Checklist of Four Harmful Chemicals in Baby Products.

Safety first! Let’s go through GOO.N’s checklist of potentially harmful chemicals in baby products.
As parents, ensuring the safety of your baby is the most important thing to consider. These followings are potentially harmful ingredients that should be avoided when you buy baby products.

    Let’s go through the checklist!

  1. Silicone
is a substance that is difficult to wash off. Commonly found in shampoo, the wax-like substance can build on your baby’s scalp, and lead to clogged pores, rashes and itchiness. To avoid buying silicone-containing products, please check the labels for Amodimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone and Phenyl Trimethicone.
  2. Parabens
are a common preservation found in soap, shampoo and shower gel. It may create a negative impact on the nervous system of your little one. To avoid buying paraben-containing products, please check the labels for Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, and Isopropylparaben.
  3. Alcohol
can make your baby’s skin dry, flaky and irritated. It may lead to skin rashes due to moisture loss. To avoid buying alcohol-containing products, please check the labels for Ethanol (Ethyl Alcohol), Methanol (Methyl Alcohol), Alcohol Denatured, Specially Denatured Alcohol, and Benzyl Alcohol.
  4. Artificial colors
make baby products more attractive. However, they may irritate the sensitive skin of your little one. To avoid buying products that contain artificial colors, please check the labels for either FD&C or หรือ D&C followed by color names and codes.
